All Guilds Meeting: Special Session

Hiya, my fellow explorers...

Just a quick reminder that the normally scheduled All Guilds Meeting has been postponed. Although usually held the first Saturday of each month, this conflicts with the annual Mysterium convention being held in Spokane, WA the same weekend.

As several noteworthy events are planned for participants there, the raindate was chosen to await and later report new and exciting informational tidbits which may develop during the convention.

The AGM will now be held on Saturday, the 9th of August, 2014, at 13:00 KI-time (19:00GMT) in the Kirel auditorium.

Doobes and the GoMe team are looking forward to seeing you there!

All Guilds Meeting - July 2014

This month's All Guilds Meeting was a bit more laid back and free-form due to the lack of presenters, but a few tidbits of news ended up making their way into the proceedings.  As always, we have the raw and cleansed chatlogs for you to read if you missed out.

KathAveara

Kath was up first to update everyone on the two big projects on which she's been working.  The first is her reimagining of the Book of Atrus.  She plans to put the project on hold until better sources of material are available before she continues on; for example, a better idea of the path from the surface to D'ni.

Secondly, the Guild of Linguists' D'ni Language Restoration Project is still in need of talented individuals to help expand the D'ni language.  This project has been endorsed by Cyan's Richard "RAWA" Watson, so head on over and lend a hand!

The Open Cave MOUL Shard 2.16 is Live

Just a few weeks after the Guild of Writers released their own update to Gehn Shard, The Open Cave has followed suit and released version 2.16 of their MOUL shard!  Various fixes and additions include:

  • New Guild of Messengers Pub by Doobes
  • Walkable exteriors in Pod Ages
  • Repeat recent chat lines with up/down keys
  • KI text shadows and proper chat fading
  • Coop-Anim demo /attack is now /threaten
  • /startdance is now /dance
  • A lot of further bug fixes and improvements

Some known glitches to fix:

  • /swim, /crawl, /aeroplane are broken. I intend to fix them in the future.
  • You can fall through the water in Negilahn, so be careful.

Also, a couple of notes from the TOC team:

Due to real life issues, we could not implement MysBibi's reward for winning the picture contest yet. We will deliver it as soon as possible, though.

Also, please note that this is the first update after April 8. That means (as we announced in January) support for Windows XP has been dropped.

To get the new update, simply run your TOC MOUL client as normal and let it download.  If you'd like to try either of their shards, MOUL or PotS versions, visit their site and click on "How to Play" under the appropriate menu.

Excellent work!

Mysterium 2014 Registration & Event Submissions Closing Soon

It’s officially summer, and Mysterium is fast approaching! The committee has a couple of timely reminders:

Registration and T-Shirts

First, the last day for online registration and t-shirt pre-orders is July 4th. That’s only two weeks away! If you plan to attend, please register online so that they can get an accurate estimate of attendance numbers. If you plan on buying a Mysterium t-shirt, they strongly encourage you to do so either by pre-ordering one to pick up at the convention, or by using their Square Market store to buy one that can be shipped to you. Ordering for shirts through their Square store will also close after July 4th, so get orders in now!

Events Needed!

Second, the deadline for event submissions is June 30th. If you’ll be at Mysterium and you have an idea for a panel discussion, presentation, display, or activity that you’re interested in running, please let them know! Head over to the Events page at their site and be sure to read the event guidelines, then fill out the form at the bottom of the page.

We’re so excited about this year’s Mysterium, and we can’t wait to see you all in Spokane. Shorah b’shemtee!
