ok, so we have more time to assemble everything. At the meeting we were pointing to the end of September XD

Understandably, when everyone is volunteering their time and talents, sometimes we have to work around their schedules.

I would still like to shoot for having everything together by the end of September, as this will give us a chance to really look at the Mag and scrutinize it, and also discuss any difficulties with assembling and resolve them for future issues.

Proofreading completed up through Voltigeurs article, will continue further as I have time.

The two articles that I started with happened to be the two most troublesome, and both need some more work.  I've PM'ed Leo about his article, and Theremin, by your approval I would like to restore some of the pieces you cut out of Szark's article because I think you really over-chopped it.

Ack, offline stuff is still kicking me while I'm down. I just got some info back from the club on dA so I want to write that up within the week. I'm determined to have it in before the end of the month.

Yeah that is what I did last time and Iit started to get very hard and time consuming to do all myself. hence why I said that I would be willing to do the crossword IF I had some help. I just don't have the time I once did and sharing it around would lighten the load. Each person puts in 3 of 4 questions and answers then soon enough one has a crossword. :D

Let's skip the crossword for this issue, we all have enough to do without having another thing to do!

A small announcement, but one of great significance- Marten is going to step up into an Editor's position to help Lunanne for this issue and possibly the next. He has some great ideas and skills that I feel we're not using to our advantage by limiting him to a proofreading job. He'll be tackling Szark's and Leo's articles to start. :)

Yep no problem.

Great work so far Marten. Theremin's getting ganged up on...nanananana about time.....LOL

I am working on the ending bit for the badly written piece I did which Marten has made a major improvement.

That big Logo image has now been rerendered and now in Photobucket (September Issue Album)

We still need some more Did You Knows added to the Wiki. I wil try and get some myelf tonight to at least get a few more for this issue.

Also Interview with Twins still needs to be done. A front page article needs choosing and then moving to the front. (which I can do when a choice has been made.)

The order we have them in on the wiki can make it easier for the assembler to assemble but it can also hinder. The main thing is to have the lead article chosen, sections made if any and last page left for Guild and Mag information or picture, or both. This gives the assembler a direction to head for. The flexibilty is how and in what order each section is arranged. This is becasue the assembler needs to make it all fit without it looking crowded. This is a challenge to say the least. It does become a real challenge when the order is too strict. Other assemblers may disagree or have thier own approach it is up to them to speak about this. If I was doing it again this is what I would have.

Lead artlice - the one chosen must be placed there.
Last page - for Guild and mag info.
Every thing in the middle - arrange to fit as a whole or in their sections (even if it means moving the sections around) and to look good.

How does that sound?

Thermin was going for Always Further, Always Higher - Voltigeurs as the lead article. Nice peice indeed. :D

I have to put my foot down on the final order of articles- once decided it can't be changed. Assemblers will have enough leeway to make them fit to adjust for any issues of that type. The Voltigeurs article will definitely be the lead, most likely followed by either the Ahyoheek article or the Art of Myst article, followed by the K'veer article and then LP's story.

OK well the main point is to have the wiki in order, ready so the assembler doesn't have to go looking for the information as to the order. I can change the order no problem but I need to know in due time what the order is. Another decision to make LOL

Szark is reviewing the re-editing of his article (The Digital Age), and after some discussion with Leo I'll post the re-edit of Sheykan's article (Ayoheek Tournament, english translation).  If this isn't finished by tomorrow morning, it'll have to wait until Sunday afternoon as I will be out of town for a bit.  Once these actions are complete, Theremin will look at the articles again.

I´m a bit later back than planned - had a pretty bad cold.

Theremin wrote:

Next subject- Polgara/Blutec, What sort of pixel count do you prefer for the full-page cover illustration? Clat is working on that now and was asking. He may also have some small illustrations for his interview article as well!

The usual pixel count had been 200 DPI. With this you still have a chance to make a good print. And if it´s too big I can still calculate it down to a smaller pixel count. The print size has to be be A4.

Question: Did I get it right that the table of contents in the Wiki shows the correct order and that the articles are edited?

I would then start tomorrow getting everything together.

Yes, I think we'll go with that order. I haven't finalized the order with Lunanne and Marten yet, but I think you could go ahead and start. The Ahyoheek and Digital Age articles still need some final editing. The footer below the table of contents will credit everyone on the staff (I know most of you are doing multiple jobs, but we'll only list everyone once!) and Polgara, if you want to take a look at some of the photos we've been collecting, I'll leave it to you to decide where you'd like to put them. (And how many- I definitely want LP's and the Fort Jefferson one included, the rest is up to you.)

I have reviewed http://www.guildofmessengers.com/book/transmutations-stranded-fish and found no errors.  I was not able to leave a comment on the page indicating that I'd checked it.

I believe I've looked at all articles now, and look forward to proofing the assembly.

Is it too late for me to submit my article for revisions? I've been dreadfully busy lately and writing it kept getting pushed back. If it's not, could someone remind me how to submit an article? Oh, will it be okay if I have three pictures to go with my article?

Please go ahead and submit it- If we can't get it together for this issue, we'll have it in the next. Does anyone know if LT has access/permissions to the Wiki to submit an article?

It's coming together nicely, I believe! Leo/Marten, if you could take a look at the comment I made on the Ahyoheek article, I think we could put that to rest. Szark/Marten, Lunanne did a bit of editing on the Digital Age article after reading some of my notes- take a look and advise. Also take a look at the order and offer any thoughts, about the only definites I have are the first and last article, give me an idea of what you think might flow the best.

LT You can make a Book (Wiki) page...see tutorail http://www.guildofmessengers.com/book/how-make-new-book-page bottom of page you will find pictorial help in the form of a PDF. Once the page is made go and find it and paste your text in. I will come along and tidy things up if needed.

I'll work on resolving things this weekend.  A few new grammatical issues have popped up with the further edits.

One comment I cannot resist.

I think I've got a Did You Know, but I'm not 100% sure about it...

Basically, the Gahreesen totem symbol could very well be Tolkien's symbol for Barad-Dûr: a crowned tower with an open eye, drawn in a style that is similar to his own illustrations. I'd call coincidence, but Gahreesen already contains one LotR (and specifically Sauron-related) reference, the Ring incriptions at the link-in point. *cue "One does not simpy link into Mordor" jokes* If it's acceptable, I'll try to word it for the DYK section...

Yeah you tell'em Marten...........btw I have no idea what you just said. It sounded good anyway. LOL

LP. Bit of a mouthful ROFLOL I can see why we would need it shortening. These DYK's must be facts that can be substantiated. Not saying this is or isn't but I thought I would mention it just in case. :D

LT how are you getting on with making a wiki page.............if you have serious difficulty just send the text (and images) to me and I will get it done for you.
