Amber Horizons Cross-Worlds Beach Party

That's right, it's time to grab the surfboards and the drawn butter for the return of the Amber Horizons Beach Party!

This will be a cross-world event. Festivities start at 3PM PDT/SL (16:00 Cavern) in Aderyn's Myst Haven West in Second Life, then pick up two hours later in Beach Party Amber's Ahnonay 1, in the Cavern.

We're hoping that Amber will be staffing the Bevin and/or on call to provide Age invites for last minute arrivals, but if you want to attend the Cavern portion of the party, you can KI mail her (5053687), Ace (73807) for an Age invite ahead of time! Or, leave a note in the MOUL thread , and be sure to include your KI #.

Hope to see you there!

Kirel Guilds and Groups Fair

After the successful Fair organized by Marcus Wheeler on March, it was decided to make it a recurring event for the Guilds and Groups to keep in touch with the whole community.

All the Guilds and Groups are invited to attent Kirel on the first weekend of each month to share informations with all the Myst Community, recruit interested people and let everyone know what you're up to.

On Saturday, at 13.00KITime there will also be an All Guilds Meeting for all the guilds and groups to discuss among them about what they are doing, organize projects and generally have a moment to share informations and opinions on the Guilds work.

The event is open to everyone and we hope to see as much people as possible in Kirel asking informations. Don't hesitate to ask anything to the people there, they're there just for that!

The weekend event will be postponed if it coincides with an International Holiday or if there are server problems in MOULa

We hope to see you all there!

Interview with Jahmen

Jahmen, a former member of the Cavern Community exchanges a few thoughts with Irissa from the Guild of Messengers.

Jahmen: Around early Oct 2006 I started playing MOUL Beta. The top of the great staircase in Ae’Gura was as far as we could go, although a few of us were able to jump off the roof of the Tokotah building into the city.  Ah the memories, the fun!  My initial Marker Quest and Jalak Dador games started out as individual games until I got the idea to incorporate the use of both into a single game.

GoMe_Irissa:  What is your experience with other stand alone Myst related titles?

Jahmen: I can proudly say I have played through every Myst Game without a single cheat! Each game took about 2 weeks, playing 10 to 14 hours a day. When I got stuck on an Age I would go to another. I began map making, drawing out the Ages and puzzles to help me work them out, starting back with Myst.  Exile & Path of the Shell were the most fun to play.  Riven, though, is a classic with the graphic videos that were part of the main story arc.

GoMe_Irissa: You built the Marker Games Bevin in late March, 2010. What kind of success has that had in drawing explorers together, to enjoy these kinds of games?

Jahmen: I think anyone who has ever built up a Bevin knows that it takes a strong commitment and a lot of hard work.  We need to attract players who have leadership and organizational skills. It will take time to create these world-class Marker quest games and a system that Explorers can submit and receive Marker quest games.

GoMe_Irissa: You posted a somewhat controversial post in the official URU forums recently. Lire la suite

April 7th Cavern Hoax

On April 7th, 2010, the Guild of Messengers and Guild of Maintainers discovered they had been named in a hoax being spread to players via the Ki Mail system, and displayed on Guild Pub Imagers.  One of the documents being passed to players named the Guild of Maintainers as some sort of police force.

Four documents were passed to the player base. Two were written text, and two were Ki Camera shots. These shots showed the written material that had been uploaded to the Guild Pub Imagers.

One of the documents named Leonardo as Guild Master of Guild of Messengers. This is patently false information, as was the Rank 3 Guild member references. The “hunt” for the player August Knight is also a complete fabrication.  Neither the Guild of Messengers nor the Guild of Maintainers were behind this.

Tsahno's Bevin Story Night

r'Tayrtahn (aka Rehnehmtahn Later in SL) holds a story night in MOULa and in SecondLife..

The stories are being hosted in both Second Life ( http://slurl.com/secondlife/Vulcan%20Myst/38/105/22 or IM Rehnehmtahn Later, for a TP) and in Uru in Tsahno's Bevin. If the Bevin is not present in the Nexus, IM r'Tayrtahn, KI# 308297 for a KI invitation to the Bevin.

The stories are from the books of the kings, from the novels and from the games. Neither the books of kings nor the books from the Myst Reader are told verbatim. Rather, they are summaries of the stories, told in a manner to keep in mind the whole of the history and how the past has affected the present.

Second Life:
Sunday nights at 10:00PM SL time (pacific -- 6:00AM Monday GMT). The stories are told in text chat.

MOULa (Sunday night's story repeated for the cavern):
Saturday nights at 10:00PM cavern time (9:00PM pacific -- 5:00AM Sunday GMT) The stories were being told in text, but have recently switched to voice.
