MOULa servers down - uh I mean Up of course.

The MOULa servers are currently down without announcement from Cyan (well, it is easter monday after all).

So don't panic, if MOULa gives an error/crashes/doesn't work it is not you. So you don't have to reinstall or anything.

Edit : and they are up again!

A Smattering of Mysterium 2011 News

Shorah Again

How have you been? We’ve been *really* busy, preparing some Mysterium news for you!

Mini no more?
Given the numbers we got on our polls, we have decided to drop the ‘mini’. This is now a full-on Mysterium, with support from some members of the normal Mysterium Committee. That said, we are still running from our own website (http://mysterium.zibland.com/), and questions should be sent to our Digital Non-sentient Indicator (or D’NI for short) at .

Logo Contest
Do you have 1337 art skills? Do you love Amateria? Did you skip those last two questions? Then have we got a contest for you! Read more

It is held in the Heritage Night Bevin, and typically runs for One hour (although it may go on longer depending on the script).

As always, we are looking for Hosts. If you are interrested in Hosting Heritage Night, or even are simply wanting to know more Infomation about Heritage Night, please contact DTC at KI#: 203751

Depending on the Host of the evening, there may be a Field Trip planned for each evening, related to that night's specific topic.  If possible, a Marker Game, detailing key events noted durring the night, will be handed out as well.

Make One - Share One Contest

No guild of fine artists? That doesn't mean the creative side of the community isn't doing anything. On deviantart there are several Myst/Uru groups and (currently) the most active one is holding a contest!

The Myst-fanclub's Make one- Share one comptetion has been a very succesfull contest in the past and the idea is simple

In Make One, Share One participants will create an art piece representing a character or element from their favorite Myst game. This can be in any visual media except animation or literature (drawings, paintings, models, embroidery, woodwork, bead work, etc. are fine). This is an opportunity for members to stretch their creative wings and to provide awards for future club-sponsored competitions.

The deadline is 21 May. See the link below for more information. To participate one must be a member of Deviantart and of the group, both are free >.>

Guild of Writers relaunches website, begins CyanWorlds.com Engine Development

The Guild of Writers has relaunched its website, giving the a new layout which is more user-friendly. Development Journals have also been revamped, giving artists and programmers a central place for blogging about their guild-related projects.

Along with the website relaunch, the Guild has created a development branch of the CyanWorlds.com Engine because the Guild Council feels that a locally maintained branch is the best way to serve the needs of the community. To that end, we will make every effort to share our progress with other development groups.

(See http://guildofwriters.com or the link below for additional information.)

April Discoveries Bring May MYSTeries (a.k.a. ADBMM) Cavern Project is a GO!

Check out the new cavern project I've started. The goal is to plan events through the month of April so that the month of May can be all about Myst. From cavern events, to marker games, to reading the Myst novels, to sitting down for a playthrough of Myst IV anyone can participate in or out of cavern. I still need several people to help out so stop by the MOUL forums and see what all the fuss is about!

Open Source! We are finally there!

At approximately 14:36 KItime, Chogon released a message from Rand saying that open source was finally ready.

The sources for the MOULA Client Engine and Development Tools are going to be available as open source. In addition, MOSS, a replacement for the MOULA server, written by a'moaca' and cjkelly, has been released. The MOULA servers will continue to operate normally. For more information on this exciting new development see Chogon’s post .

Cyan has been collaborating with some people from the community, among which is JWPlatt, the founder of OpenUru.org, which is now the official place where the sources of Uru Open Source are hosted.
